Homeowners Insurance
I don’t know about you but with summer being right around the corner it has wanting to air out the house, do some outside home maintenance, go to the pool and read over my Homeowners Insurance policy! Well, maybe not that last part but it is a good idea to know what is and isn’t covered under your current policy. I’ll give you a brief look at which perils are covered under most homeowner policies and what is typically excluded from a standard policy.
Below you will find common covered perils. All these perils are covered under the standard HO-3 policy.
Some Common Exclusions:
Ordinance or law: demolition or construction required to bring your house up to code.
Earth movement: earthquakes, sinkholes, landslides and mud-flows.
Water damage: caused by floods, sewer back-ups (if not added as an endorsement)
Power failure
Neglect of the property
War
Nuclear hazard
Intentional loss
